Thursday, November 6, 2025

7:30 p.m. ET on Zoom

November is Mizrahi Heritage Month, a time dedicated to elevating the cultures, heritages, and traditions of Jews from the Middle East and North Africa. Join us for an enlightening program about Jews from Yemen. Explore the history and migration to Israel of most of the age-old Yemeni Jewish community. This talk will use the Jewish foodways to examine how Yemeni Jews struggled to resist assimilation, while also working to integrate into Israeli society.

Presenter: Ari Ariel, Ph.D., Director of International Studies at the University of Iowa and an Associate Professor of Instruction in International Studies and History.

The program is FREE and open to all. For more information, contact Sharon Wyner at 978-565-4450 or email swyner@lappinfoundation.org.
